Lindsay's 30th birthday! :)

Lindsay on the whitewater in 2004.

A message from Lindsay's mom:
Happy 30th Birthday to my beautiful daughter.

You taught me in your brief years on earth what true faith really is by your living example of faith in action.

"Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see." ~Hebrews 11:1

A.W. Tozer once said, "In the Scriptures there is practically no effort made to define faith. Outside of a brief definition in Hebrews 11:1, I know of no Biblical definition, and even there faith is defined functionally, not philosophically; that is, it is a statement of what faith is in operation, not what it is in essence. It assumes the presence of faith and shows what it results in, rather than what it is. We will be wise to go just that far and attempt to go no further. ... This much is clear, and, to paraphrase Thomas à Kempis, 'I had rather exercise faith than know the definition thereof.'"

And Linds, you exercised faith so clearly. Everyone who knew you was touched by this faith. And still to this day, many are coming closer to Jesus by your real story of faith. I love you and am so proud of you. Mom

Today is Lindsay's 30th Birthday! Sadly, a milestone birthday that she is not here to celebrate, but definitely a day that she is lovingly remembered.

This time of year is obviously overshadowed by the horrifying events that took place on September 11, ten years ago. I don't want to go without mentioning it because my heart and my sincere prayers go out to everyone who lost loved ones and/or who experienced the traumatic events of that day, in person! I honestly cannot imagine what that must have been like. Watching it on TV was traumatic enough! There are images burned into my mind that I will never forget!

So, while these poignant days every September weigh heavily on the hearts of countless people each year, I want to praise God for the time that we did get to spend with our loved ones and the unbelievable grace and mercy with which He still carries everyone through each day! Please pray for Lindsay's friends and family members... those who knew her best and loved her with all of their hearts! This milestone birthday will not come and go without the desperate longing for her presence. And please pray for everyone else who is also experiencing this same heart-wrenching longing for those they lost ten years ago.

I praise God for the great example of a genuine woman of faith that Lindsay was for others! In her death, her gentle and humble nature and her complete devotion to serving the Lord became her legacy! She set an amazing example for all of us and I am so grateful that God has not let her death be in vain. To God be the glory!!!

Happy 30th Birthday Lindsay! ♥
