Lindsay's 37th Birthday!
Today is Lindsay's 37th birthday!
I never got the chance to get to know Lindsay because I had only met her once. What I know of her, from what I've learned from those who knew her best, was that she was an extremely caring person with a humble and tender heart and she lived that out by genuinely caring for others. She truly was a reflection of God's grace, as we are all called to be. What a blessing it is that God has been glorified by the life that she led! She set an amazing example for us all of what a life of purity and Godly love is all about!
I am really looking forward to getting to know her in heaven someday. I can't even imagine what heaven will be like, but I do know that where Lindsay is right now, is the best possible place she can be! The apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippians, said, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21) What he meant, of course, is that while his work here on earth was very meaningful and worthwhile for the cause of Christ, he would much rather actually be in heaven with Christ! I hope that is the desire of all Christians... to value their time here and make it count... all the while longing for the day they are welcomed into heaven. What an amazing eternity we are blessed with! We don't even have the first clue of how awesome it's going to be. We can't even begin to comprehend it! Our God is indeed an AWESOME God! This is the promise of the glory that awaits us:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him."
~ 1 Corinthians 2:9
As we believe in Christ and His death on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins... we are now clothed in righteousness before God. We cannot earn it... it is a gift that only Christ could give! And in accepting that gift, we are promised eternity in heaven! We can rest assured in that.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
~ John 3:16
Therein lies the destiny of Lindsay... which is the same destiny for all of us who believe and trust in the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ!
